This book written by Rory Miller titled, “Self Defense: Facing Violence: Preparing for the Unexpected” is a good introduction to self defense with a few pitfalls. One important aspect you should know right off the bat is that this book doesn’t go into a lot of detail about techniques and movement. However, it dives into the psychological turmoil and dynamics caused by violent encounters.

Becoming prepared to face a physical altercation of any kind is physically and mentally exhausting. A martial artist can train the muscles of the body and his or her stamina with proper MMA training, exercise, and healthy nutrition, but there’s a lot more that goes into the preparation of a fighter just before the fight. Fighters necessitate the appropriate mental composure just before the fight. Training the mental state of the fighter takes just as a lot time and consideration as the body training. Like the physical aspect of correct training, mental composure takes practice. Reasonable guidance for all stressful situation, remain focused and in control.

Learning Self Defense
