When you walk into a boxing or MMA training gym for the first time it can be intimidating. There is a constant cracking of leather on leather as pads are pounded and bags are caved in under relentless punching. Everywhere you look there are guys, and girls, with blank expressions on their faces except for the embers in their eyes as they go about their daily routines. They move like the big hunting cats of Africa, effortlessly yet poised to strike at any moment. They posses speed, they posses power. And guess what, so will you one day.

Okay enough is enough, lay off of Hershel Walker. Everyone in MMA is talking about whether he is turning combat sports into a joke and it isn’t him but the press
who is! All Walker want to do is to train and get better at his MMA skills but every reporter and MMA blog is all over him asking him if he is going to be the next UFC champion.

At Martial Art Book we like to write about the good guys in MMA and martial arts. I believe when you find a good person or athlete it is important to find out what
makes them tick. So, when I find an MMA athlete that is excelling in the fight game I will let you know and find out more (which I will do in an upcoming post). I ran by this article in my rss feed and it caught my eye because of the title, “The Price of Discipline is Worth the Glory In the End”.
