It all started with Bill Blanks DVD workouts series Tae Bo.  That was the commercially successful workout video series that tied the world of fitness with the martial arts.  Now you and I are not surprised when we see someone is touting the health benefits of a Mixed Martial Arts training program. Most of them are Doctors or avid doughnut shop junkies and they say this like it is a breakthrough in science and the health and fitness world. However, we have known this and understand why MMA is such a healthy lifestyle with it resulting in improved cardio, strength, and flexibility.

I am not a big Nick Diaz fan but I am a huge fan of MMA fighters taking their training to the next level and that is what Nick has done.  Whatever your thoughts are on this guy you have to respect is level of passion for health and fitness.  Nick has always been a little different than the normal MMA meat-head fighter and with respect this certainly shows it.

Quick MMA Training Drills To Test Your Cardio

The following are 3 Good Test to give yourself to find out where you are at in strength and cardio. I would suggest doing this while not training for a fight or tournament to get a good baseline for this test. Then when a fight or tournament get’s closer say 2 to 4 weeks out do these test and find out if you are right on with your training or need to kick it in gear. When you have a fight where your cardio and strength is exactly where you want it to be at look back at the test results and shoot for those before ever fight or tournament.
